Sandy was born in Georgia, in an Army hospital. Being a quintessential army brat she learned to overcome paralyzing shyness by pretending to be outgoing. She also made up friends from books, and when she couldn't get enough of those, she made them up from her imagination. Moving around a lot instilled a love of travel, and a desire to see as much of the world as possible, whenever possible, but she somehow still ended up spending most of her adult life in Georgia.
Sandy earned a living in a variety of jobs as varied as magician's assistant, receptionist and advertising sales. After the birth of her son, she decided that raising a child might require a higher education than she currently had, and entered college. She wanted to major in Philosophy or English, her husband suggested accounting, so she compromised by entering a physics program. Six short years later she had a physics degree, with a minor in math. The mental cake wasn't done baking so she went to Georgia Tech, Emory and Emory again, studying molecular biophysics, medical science, and anesthesia. Her final master's program cured her of studentia perpetua, and she currently works as an anesthetist.
Sandy writes literary, philosophical, humorous and speculative fiction, sometimes at the same time. She's written four novels, and is currently at work on a fifth novel, plus several short stories. She can write on spec, for food, or even when she's driving, although she only does that in her head.
When she's not writing, she's thinking about writing, and when she's not thinking about writing she plays video games, preferably on her PS4, but any console will do. She also reads, a lot, check out her lists on Goodreads. She's learning to meditate and play the piano and every year she gets closer to becoming a vegan. She also likes to binge watch TV, but if the show drags, she's back to thinking about her latest writing project. Sandy can be found on Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads, but she's learned to limit her social media time so she can be social in real life.
